Why Domara

What sets this work apart

Hands-on, not just advisory

We sit alongside your family and work through the papers together. The system is built in your home or at our office, not handed over as a template.

Renewal tracking built in

Every programme notes which documents expire and when. The renewal calendar service extends this into a full twelve-month reminder structure.

Clear scope, no overreach

Each session ends with a note on any matters that need a qualified professional. We organise information; we do not give legal, financial or medical advice.

Family-centred approach

Training sessions ensure more than one person in the household knows where everything is — so the archive works even when one family member is unavailable.

Local climate awareness

Humidity guidance is adapted to Johor Bahru conditions. Storage choices reflect what actually works in the local environment, not generic overseas advice.

Transparent fees

Service fees are stated upfront. Any third-party office charges — such as official document reproduction costs — are listed separately so there are no surprises.

Take the First Step

A short conversation is all it takes to understand which programme suits your family's situation. There is no pressure and no commitment at the first contact.

Common Questions

Questions families usually ask

What exactly does a Shelf Session involve?

A Shelf Session is a three-hour working appointment where we sort through the household's existing papers alongside you. We group them by document family — identity, property, vehicles, insurance, correspondence and so on — discard duplicates, note which records have passed their validity period, and create a labelled filing structure. At the end you receive a written filing guide and a validity table. The session can take place at our Johor Bahru office or at your home.

Do you provide any legal or official advice during the session?

No. Domara provides administrative and informational support only. We organise papers, prepare calendars and build filing systems. When a matter requires a solicitor, accountant or other regulated professional, we note that clearly and suggest the family seek the appropriate firm independently.

How does the Renewal Calendar service work in practice?

We begin by listing every document held by household members that has an expiry date — identity cards, passports, driving licences, road tax, permits and registrations. These are entered into a shared renewal calendar. Before each renewal date we send a reminder and prepare a document set so the paperwork is ready when you need it. A mid-year review meeting checks whether any new documents have been issued or any dates have changed.

How long does the Family Archive Programme take?

The programme runs over four months with weekly working sessions. The pace is deliberate — larger households with decades of records benefit from working steadily rather than rushing. By the end, the archive is fully inventoried, digitised at archival resolution, stored in archival-grade materials, and indexed in both printed and digital form.

What happens to sensitive documents during the process?

Documents remain under the family's control throughout. We work with you directly and do not remove originals from your possession without your specific agreement. Digitised copies are delivered on two drives — both are handed to the family. We do not retain copies of your household records after the programme concludes.

Are third-party charges included in the prices shown?

No. The prices listed — RM 640, RM 1,290 and RM 4,470 — cover Domara's service fees only. Any official charges such as document reproduction costs from government offices or archival materials purchased on your behalf are listed separately and transparently before you agree to any expenditure.

Can the session be held at our home in Johor Bahru?

Yes. The Shelf Session and the Archive Programme both offer home visits within Johor Bahru. Working in the family home is often more practical because the papers are already there and we can set up the filing system in the space where it will be used day-to-day. Please mention your address preference when you get in touch.
